A stack for one
My current stack for shipping as a solo dev — boring, fast, and easy to delete.
If I can't explain the stack in one breath, it's too big.
Right now:
- Next.js + TypeScript — one framework, one language, streaming and server components where they help, nowhere else.
- Tailwind — no design system, just constraints. One radius, one shadow, monochrome + one accent.
- Supabase + PostgreSQL — auth and data without thinking about auth and data.
- Vercel — push = live. No pipelines to babysit.
No microservices. No monorepo. No custom CLI.
The test is: can I delete any piece in an afternoon? If not, it's too coupled.
This isn't the right stack. It's the right size stack for one person who wants to ship weekly. When the problem changes, the stack will change. For now, boring wins.
