Writing as distribution

I don't have a marketing team. I have a notebook and a Substack called Hyped Hustler.

I tried to do marketing like a marketer. Funnels, lead magnets, threads about threads. It felt gross because it was gross — for me.

What actually works: write one honest note a week about what you're building and what you got wrong.

That's Hyped Hustler. Weekly on the creator economy, solopreneurship, personal branding, marketing, and sales — plus the SaaS I'm building in the open. Same tone as this blog, just in your inbox.

No playbook:

  1. Build something small that matters to one person.
  2. Write how you built it, plainly.
  3. Share it where that one person hangs out.

If you want to start, don't launch a newsletter. Publish four notes here first. If you can do that, you have a newsletter. If you can't, a Substack won't fix it.
